Ok but not to my taste

Great company - speedy postage and nice packaging/good value for size but I really didn’t like the jerky sorry, not to my taste. This could be down to me, I’m new to jerky! But I found it far too tough /chewy and salty to what I’ve tried before.

Hi Karen, thanks for your review, if you are new to jerky you may not know that it needs to rehydrate in the mouth, it is not like soft processed supermarket jerky, which contains nitrites and nitrates, linked to bowl cancer, we use salt in place. Thanks for the nice comments for packaging and delivery, but think 3 stars is a bit harsh.

Best I've ever eaten.

I've traveled the globe and tried many types of dried meat including the USA and honestly this is the best Jerky I've ever eaten.

100% recommended and will be ordering again.

Outstanding Jerky

It's a real pain to find decent jerky in the UK, especially in anything approaching a useful quantity. There are a few micro brands but they tend to sell in tiny 20-30g packs and generally aren't great. For years I made my own but again that's a time intensive process. Smoky barrel is now my go-to, they sell in quantities that are actually useful for long road trips or walks, the flavour is great and the texture is much more natural compared to many brands that use tenderising chemicals or processing.

It's expensive, but like most things you get what you pay for and I think it's entirely worth it.
